Facebook notification bliss

Ahhhhh…
I love my Favebook notification setup. It’s customized. Really. I mean it. Customized!
What the hell am I talking about?
Okay so I got sick of too damn many emails when I would post a comment on Facebook. I’d say “gee that’s cool Robert” and find myself innundated with the idle banter of strangers on a topic on which I knew nothing. Blaegh!
I fixed that shit!
I went into my gmail and setup a specific filter to keep out all followup notifications on another person’s posts unless the follow up commentor was the original poster. I also still receive all notifications on my own posts.
This one filter cut my Facebook bacn by about 80%. AND, it cut the LEAST RELEVANT 80%!
Ahhhhh… Facebook notification bliss!
I stay relevant and up to date on topics upon which the original poster is active and upon my own topics. In short, I stay in the conversation if it’s relevant.
NOTE: As a point of interest, I still get ALL notifications when I’m actually logged in and using Facebook either via mobile device or desktop/laptop. Just not in my email inbox!
WIFM: Want to know how I set this up in gmail? If two or more people are interested and comment MY ORIGINAL BLOG POST to request it, I’ll post screenshots and explain it so that anyone can do it quickly and easily. Be sure to subscribe so you’ll get it!
